3. Clipboard Permission

The Extension may use the browser’s clipboardWrite permission to copy text, templates, generated responses, or other user-selected content to the clipboard. Clipboard access is used only when a user activates a copy or related feature. The Extension does not use this permission to collect or transmit unrelated clipboard content.

4. Offscreen Permission

The Extension may use the browser’s offscreen permission to perform tasks that require a temporary hidden document, such as preparing content, processing downloads, handling browser-supported media operations, or supporting Extension functionality that cannot run directly inside the sidebar or service worker.

Offscreen documents are used only for the Extension’s stated features and are not used to secretly monitor browsing activity.

5. Local Storage

The Extension may store settings, preferences, templates, or temporary Extension data locally on your device using browser storage. This information is used to remember your choices and improve usability.

You can remove locally stored Extension data by uninstalling the Extension or clearing the Extension’s storage through your browser settings.

6. Third-Party Services

The Extension may interact with ChatGPT or OpenAI services when you use features that require those services. Information submitted to a third-party service is governed by that service provider’s own privacy policy and terms.

Sidebar for ChatGPT is an independent browser extension unless explicitly stated otherwise. It is not endorsed by, affiliated with, or officially connected to OpenAI.

We do not sell, rent, or trade users’ personal information.

We do not share user information with third parties except when necessary to provide a feature requested by the user, comply with applicable law, or protect the security and integrity of the Extension.

Any webpage access requested by the Extension should be limited to the minimum access necessary to provide its disclosed features.
